Lobster Dinner!

We went for a drive to see the Marconi National Historic Site, about one hour drive from Lousibourg....like I said we are not good tourist and we missed it. We decided to just keep driving and we found a little bay with some fishing boats, then I noticed people coming out of a little shack carrying plastic bags. We went to see what they were getting and it turned out to be LOBSTERS! We bought 2 "shank" lobsters for $7.00 each. We had them for dinner and I can tell you we both thought it was the best lobster we have ever eaten. The "shank" sells for $7.00 and the "market" sells for $31.00....Here is a photo of what we got! Yummy!!!!

Louisbourg Nova Scotia

Here we are in Louisbourg, we are not very good tourists as we seem to ignore the museums, historical sights, and some points of interest! We do go for long drives and enjoy seeing the little fishing towns and harbours. Ernest is taking almost as many photos as I do, he seems to enjoy it. We are going to go to the Fortress of Louisbourg tomorrow, Canada Day! I think they will have lots of exciting stuff going on then. Here are some photos we have taken lately. The first photo is one I took early the first morning at this camp, it is the view from our front window.

Big Pond---St. Peters

We are in between these two areas so I titled them both. This campground said they do not have Internet so I am picking up signal from somewhere close by but it is very weak, I hope I can upload some photos. I have the notebook on the dash just above the steering wheel so it is hard to type. I am so excited to say we went to Rita Mac Neil's TEA HOUSE!!!!!!! Here are the photos, if the come up....if not I will add them at the next camp ground with Internet.....

Day of Rest???

This was suppose to be a restful day but after only 5 hours of sleep I was up at 5:30, I woke up a number of times before that so I figured I may as well get up. Lucky for me I have the internet and TV to keep me busy. I would of done my ironing (yuk) but the iron is under our bed. Ernest got up at 9:00 and after we had breakfast and coffee together he washed the car and motor home and I did my ironing. Later in the afternoon we went to Costco which is just down the free-way about 20 minutes.

Tomorrow we leave this campground and head east. We will stop at Rita Mac Neil's Tea House and then find a RV spot for the night. I probably will not have Internet there. Our next stop will be Louisbourg where we will tour the "Fortress of Lousibourg". We had heard good things about this historical site so we are looking forward to seeing it.

I have been feeling off today thinking of our brother, Larry. For those who do not know, he has been an alcoholic for most of his life. He is almost two years older than me. He has been in the hospital for about two months seriously ill from complications of his drinking. I do not know if he will make it through this tough time. He is a nice guy but the booze has run his life for so many years.

Well this is about it for today, best I stop before I get too sappy. Will write a post as soon as we see something or do something!

Day trip!

Today we went in the car for a tour of the bays going to the west of us. It was a wonderful day. I packed a lunch for us and we ate beside one of the bays while watching the sea gulls catching their lunch in the water. We drove about 600 km. from start to finish. We had dinner on the way home at a Chinese restaurant. Ernest is really getting into photography and he has some good shots. He are a few of "our" photos from today.

Glen Margaret Bay Region & Peggy's Cove

We are in a fantastic area just outside of Halifax Nova Scotia, it is called Glen Margaret and is a few kilometers (35) from Peggy's Cove. We have been into Halifax twice in the two days we have been here but we have not done any touristy things because we found the casino and we seem to end up there. We did go to Peggy's Cove today and saw the memorial to the Swiss Air Disaster. It is a beautiful place and the memorial is very moving to see. The coast line here is as I imagined it would be, I love it here. The village of Peggy's Cove was beautiful, I did not know it had a population of only 40! Some men were packing Mackerel into tubs with ice and then they loaded the tubs into a reefer truck. As the truck drove out of town it was leaking brownish water, it smelled very strong of fish...yuk!

Courtney's Dog "Kayne"

I forgot to add Kayne's photos in my blog while we were in Kissimmee! Kayne is just a baby now and I hope he stays as friendly and gentle as he is today! We had fun with him because Courtney and Keith were on their Honeymoon! We did all bad things with him that he is not allowed to do when his mommy and daddy are home, ha ha ha! Sorry Keith and Courtney, (actually not sorry, ha ha, it was fun!)
Kayne loves Uncle Ernest, almost as much as he loves the golf cart rides!
I think Kayne is thinking "Oh this is the life". He did not want to get down off the bed, when Robert tried to grab him he would move to another part of the bed where he could not reach him. I thought we may just have to leave him there untill Keith came home, ha ha ha! Laughed untill our stomaches were sore!! Yummy, cookies served first class! He will not want to eat from the floor any more! Bye the way, this is June in the background so she was in on the spoiling too...wonder how much she will spoil grandchildren???

We also gave him Jelly Beans and corn cobs which he loved. I do not think he missed Courtney and Keith at all!
