A visit to June and Robert's house.

Here are a few pictures I took while visiting June and Robert's home. I did not get a photo of the front but the back is more beautiful anyway! The trees are beautiful with the Spanish Moss hanging from them.

Wedding Day!

Today we celebrated Courtney and Keith's wedding, it was held on beautiful beach. We are so happy that we could attend and be part of Courtney's special day. The food was delicious and the reception was fun. It was the first wedding where we seen the "Bride and Groom" as well as the "Mother of the Bride" play volleyball! This whole weekend was very well organized by June and we appreciate all the work she did to make us and all the other guests feel special and welcome!

Poolside DInner

June and Robert hosted a BBQ dinner at the hotel. The food was prepared by friend of Keith's, it was superb. He had made BBQ RIBS, PULLED PORK, BRISKET as well as BEANS and POTATOE SALAD. It was a beautiful night by the pool and everyone enjoyed a casual evening before the big day!

Shopping Day with Irene & Aki!

Today June and Courtney came by for a visit. It was nice to just sit and relax with the girls. Courtney will be getting married on Saturday!! We do not get to see these two special girls very often so every minute we have with them is precious to us!! In the afternoon we went shopping, I got a pair of shoes and a matching purse. I also bought a back pack style purse. Irene bought shoes also. The men never found anything they could not live without so they got nothing! We went to Tony Romas for dinner and had their yummy ribs!!

Disney Epcot!

We spent the day at Disney Epcot with Irene and Aki. It was a fun day and we enjoyed the sites and shows. I brought Keeli's "Beaver" and Kiana's "Bear" with us to show them Epcot. Beaver and Bear are going to travel with us for the rest of our trip, I will add some photos to this blog of them enjoying their vacation with us so be on look out "Beaver and Bear"!

We had fish and chips for lunch in United Kingdom and then just a quick dinner of "nachos"while we waited for the nightly fireworks show "Illuminations:Reflections of Earth".

Kissimmee

Today we moved from Clermont to Kissimmee, about 35 miles. We filled the motor home with fuel at a bargain $2.69 a gal.! It wasn't empty and only took about 30 gallons. The next cheapest diesel we found on this trip was on the way from Fort Lauderdale to Daytona where we got it at $1.79 a gal.. I think once we filled at a price of $2.95 but the average so far is about $2.89. I wonder what we will pay when we get into Canada!

Irene and Aki will fly in today, June will pick them up around midnight then we will go to June's in the morning and get them. They are staying with us until the wedding. It will be nice to have some family around for a while.

Shopping!

I do not have any photos today! We went into Kissimmee and did some shopping again... I got Keeli and Kiana an outfit and we picked up beach towels for everyone at home. We had lunch and dinner there so I am happy about not having to cook, lazy me! We washed the car yesterday and wouldn't you know it....today it rains on our way home and to top it off there was road construction so it was muddy!! Grrrr....$8.00 down the drain and not as much fun as the casino!

Clermont

We have not done much the last few days, we did go for a drive and found a nice little lake in the town of Clermont. Around the lake were trees with Spanish Moss hanging from them, I love the look of it! We have a few birds that come each day to the pond behind our motor home, they find bugs or something in the mud. We went to Kissimmee yesterday and looked around. We went to the RV park where we will be next week and then we found a couple flea markets but we were not impressed with them. Today we lazed around and I did some wash and vacuumed.

River Drive

This is our last day in Daytona Beach. We both enjoyed our time here but we are ready for the next adventure which will be Clermont. Today we drove along the river and stopped at a picnic area where we walked along a path and onto a dock where people were fishing. I love it when we see families enjoying nature and each other, makes me miss my family even more.

Daytona Beach

It was not as windy today but the surf is still wild. We enjoyed watching people playing in the surf. It was a misty day and air felt damp and warm.

High Surf at Daytona Beaches

Today the surf was high and the tide was in so we could not take the car onto the beach, we hope to be able to do it tomorrow! Here are some of the sights we saw today!
Keep scrolling down, for some reason there is this big blank space and I can not fix it....hmmmm. There is another post below this one!

Ponce De Leon Inlet Light Station Museum

The tour of this light house was really good. Everything here was well restored and very neat and clean. Ernest climbed the 203 steps to the top of the light house, he said it was very windy at the lookouts. The day was a bit cloudy and very smokey from a fire in the state of Georgia so the view was not much to see.

Completed in 1887, the Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station was built when the area was known as Mosquito Inlet. After decades of restoration by the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse Preservation Association, it stands today as one of the best preserved, most complete Light Stations in the nation.

The houses in the photos are the "Principal Keeper's House", the First Assistant Keeper's House" and the Second Assistant Keeper's House.
