The Garage and Halloween
We are having a garage built on our lot in Yuma. It will be 20 feet by 20 feet and will have a 3 piece bathroom in it. The garage will also be where we will have the washer and dryer as well as a small deep freeze. We are excited to have this building as some of our potluck dinners will be held in there if the weather is cold this winter.

This the big tree we are having removed. Under it is 3 nice palm trees.
On Halloween we only had 2 little boys come, the first one ran away so fast I never got a photo but I did get one of the other little guy. I was disappointed with the lack of kids and to think we stayed home instead of going out to the casino for the "Sea Food Smorg"....rats! Anyway here is a photo of him....
Here are a couple photos of some Arizona style decorations, I really like my "welcome Iguana".

Yuma
It has been very hot here, into the 30's some days. The nights have not cooled off much either so sleeping is hard since we do not have an air conditioner in the bedroom. Irene and Aki arrived today so it is nice to have family here now. I have some photos of the garage we are getting built but the Internet I am using is slow so I can not put them here. We are getting our Internet on the 8th so I will post the photos then. We only had 2 boys for Halloween, we sat out in our shorts until after 8:00 pm waiting for them and then had the lights on till 10:00 but no kids ater the two at 7:00.....that buts a different BOO in Halloween.....BOOHOO!

Heading South
We are leaving in the morning for Yuma. When I have Internet I will do a post, hopefully we figure out our Internet, satellite TV and telephone for Yuma.... Always something to decide. We can either do them all through separate companies or Ernest thinks the one he looked at last year might be the answer for us this year....who knows.... Anyway, the car is loaded and the house had a quick clean-up. We took the family all out for dinner on Friday, saw Kiana's ringette game yesterday, (sorry Keeli we missed your game today). Kiana and Keeli came over for a visit this afternoon and then we all went to Brad's to see the kids and say goodbye. Tonight we are going to Jennifer's to say our good byes and give her some perishables from our fridge.... So next time you see a post here it will be from Yuma....maybe even a photo or two of our new garage and the place there....

Bunko Night!!!
Last night we had the kids in for dinner and to play BUNKO! I cooked a really nice roast, with roasted potatoes & Carrots. We also had a Greek salad and Dungeness Crab! The bunko game was so much fun! I love watching and hearing the grandkids having fun playing with their parents and of course us too. I for got to get out the camera so we have no pictures of our family fun night.... tonight Ernest and I ate the leftover crab that we have and I am sure the kids are eating their leftover crab too.

Doonan Corn Roast 2008
Every year George and Norma put on a "Corn Roast" and "Horse Shoe Tournament". This year I believe there were approximately 87 people there for the horse shoe tournament on Saturday. Some of us come and stay in our RV'S and some of their friends just come for the day on Saturday. Ernest and I usually arrive on Friday afternoon, in this video you can see all the rigs set up around the horse shoe pits. It is a lot of work for George and Norma and I just hope they know how much we all enjoy this special weekend with them.
Starting with the "clam chowder & hamburger soup" on Friday night we continue to eat our way through the weekend, thanks to Norma and George. They make "Eggs Benedict" on Saturday morning for all us who are camping there, yummy! We all put out food for "lunch/happy hour" while the tournament is going on and then the Doonan's feed all us a " corn on the cob & chili" for dinner. On Sunday morning while we are getting the rigs ready to head home, George and Norma are up early getting breakfast ready once again, this time we have a full breakfast of sausages, eggs and pancakes.
We are also fortunate to have some talented people who play their instruments and sing for us though out the evening. I would like to give a special thanks to them, even if they do not follow my blog. They make a perfect end to a perfect day!
Thank you Norma and George!
Here are the Rigs!
How about some Breakfast?
Now for the Tournament!
